Neighborhood Watch
What is "Neighborhood
Watch"?
Neighborhood Watch is a citizen's involvement program, where
citizens, in cooperation with the Sheboygan Falls Police Department,
directly participate in the detection and prevention of crime.
Basically, neighbors watching out for one another.
Neighborhood Watch can, and will, make your community a better and safer
place to live. Neighborhood Watch citizens provide information to
the police, who will investigate suspicious activities, apprehend
criminals, and prevent crime.
How does "Neighborhood
Watch" work?
There are
three simple steps to the Neighborhood Watch Program:
1. You see a crime or suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
2. You immediately report what you have observed to the police.
3. Police respond to your call and investigate or apprehend the
criminal.
What is "suspicious
activity"?
Suspicious activity is any activity that occurs that DOES NOT FIT the
norm of your neighborhood-YOU know YOUR neighborhood. (Includes people,
vehicles, sounds, etc.)
Are there any
neighborhoods participating?
The Sheboygan Falls Police Department welcomes our very first officially
organized Neighborhood Watch Program. The area of Acacia Falls and
Forest Blvd. have been designated Neighborhood Watch Neighborhood #1.
Residents
of the neighborhood have joined together in making their neighborhood
safer by volunteering as block captains and participants. Already,
several concerns have been addressed including loud noise issues,
suspicious activity, and reckless driving.
We look
forward to working with the neighborhood watch members in making
Sheboygan Falls an even nicer place to be. If anyone is interested
in participating in the program within your neighborhood please contact
the police department at (920)467-7902 or visit us in person at 375
Buffalo Street.
